"Green Gate in the Desert" I am intrigued by the concept of being “liminal”. If we can allow ourselves to take some time off, like a sabbatical, our best creativity will emerge. I was doing a lot of reading about being liminal when I went for a hike in the desert. Between the parking lot and the trail, I needed to pass through a green gate. It struck me how the green gate was another passage to liminality - even if only for a few hours. The clicking of its metal latch punctuated the silence of the desert - and I was on my way.
