"Nautilus" A spiral shape is frequently found in nature: sea shells, new ferns, water going down the drain. Spirals also occur in manmade objects too: fiddle heads, stair cases and labyrinth paths. In technology there are fractals. In human nature there are the sayings: “spiraling downhill”, “spinning out of control” and even “turning inward” that can conjecture up the image of a spiral. I was thinking of all of these when I had the fun of creating this piece. Made of wool, wire & specialty yarns. 12" x 24" |
