Statement
I use the emotive quality of color to draw the reminiscence of a landscape. I am interested in creating a sense of space, openness and light.
My work is an effort to decrease the noise of the busy world around us, to experience the inherit value in slowing down, and to make room for living with quiet intention. I hope the calm I feel while creating these pieces provides some calmness for the viewer too.
I draw with light-fast (non-fading) pigmented pencils on archival museum board. Multiple layers of pigment provide the power of color while showing the mark of the artist’s hand. You will see hundreds of strokes. The drawing is mounted on an archival panel and cut into a shape. The hanging system on the back makes the piece appear to be floating on the wall.
